La peinture de Karel Funk se distingue d’emblée par sa technique hyperréaliste extrêmement maîtrisée et par l’originalité avec laquelle l’artiste aborde le genre du portrait. Cette première monographie, amplement illustrée, est accompagnée par deux textes originaux de Pierre Landry, conservateur au Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, et de Carter Foster, conservateur au Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.

Karel Funk’s painting is distinguished from the outset by his highly mastered hyperrealistic technique and by the originality with which the artist approaches the portrait genre. This first monograph, fully illustrated, is accompanied by two original texts by Pierre Landry, curator at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, and Carter Foster, curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
