Publication accompagnant l’exposition Dominique Blain au Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal. Depuis les années 80, Dominique Blain travaille sur les rapports de force, les effets du colonialisme et des transmigrations pour pointer et dénoncer des injustices sociales et politiques. Partant d’images trouvées, de photographies d’archives et d’objets familiers, elle redonne à ceux-ci une signification et un impact perdus par leur utilisation courante ou leur détournement médiatique. Une entrevue, un essai et les planches couleur sont accompagnés d’un projet d’artiste original de 16 pages.

Publication accompanying the exhibition Dominique Blain at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal. Since the 1980s, Dominique Blain has worked to highlight and denounce political abuse, militarism and social conflict in a wide range of contexts. Taking found images, archival photographs and everyday objects, she imbues them with a meaning and an impact that has been lost or buried through their use by dominant cultural and political forces. An interview, an essay and several colour plates are accompanied by an original 16 page artist’s project.
